Each year Danforth Art’s Juried Exhibitions Off the Wall and Community of Artists showcase new and exciting contemporary work created by emerging and established artists. Juried annually by a renowned, visiting curator, Off the Wall communicates a unique curatorial vision, and has been reviewed in Art New England, artscope, The Boston Globe, Boston Phoenix, among others. It also receives wide-spread attention from curators, gallery owners, and collectors.
Jennifer Gross is the Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. Prior to joining deCordova, Gross was Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Yale University Art Gallery, and has held curatorial positions at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art, where she was also an Assistant Professor.
Danforth Art’s Executive Director Katherine French has been recognized by the New England Chapter of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) for curatorial excellence and named Best Curator of Locally Made Art at the New England Art Awards. Work included in Community of Artistsis chosen by Katherine French after selections have been made for Off the Wall.

Many of the works exhibited in the Annual Juried Exhibitions are available for purchase. A 50% deposit is required to hold work. The final balance must be paid before works are released to the purchaser from Danforth Art.
Artwork in Off the Wall and Community of Artists may be purchased at the admissions desk. All works must be picked up at the admissions desk by the purchaser by Friday, August 8, 2014. An online catalog of selected works will be available to preview works in late May.
Artwork exhibited in the Student Juried Exhibition may be purchased in the School Office. All works must be picked up in the School Office by the purchaser by June 20, 2014.
Work for sale must be priced by the artist, with a 40% commission to benefit Danforth Art. After the close of the exhibitions, artists receive checks for 60% of sale price on works sold. Commissions on sale of work support exhibitions and related curatorial programs at Danforth Art. If work is not for sale (NFS), value must be stated for insurance purposes. Value of NFS works will not be made public. If a sale price is not provided, Danforth Art will assume the work is not for sale.
