General Information

Administrative Offices and the Danforth Art School have relocated to the Framingham State University campus. Renovations have begun on the Jonathan Maynard Building at 14 Vernon Street, scheduled to open in 2019. Art Classes are currently being offered on FSU's campus at 23 Salem End Road. The Danforth Art Museum is currently closed and will reopen in Spring 2019 in the Jonathan Maynard Building.

Please Note: the School will be closed for staff vacation from Saturday, August 25 - Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Holiday Hours

Danforth Art Museum\School, including administrative offices, are closed on the following holidays:

Monday, October 8 Columbus Day
Monday, November 12 Veterans Day

The Museum

There are no museum galleries or exhibitions currently in the Jonathan Maynard Building; there are limited Danforth Art Museum exhibitions being held offsite, generously hosted by community partners, through 2018. Please see the current exhibitions for additional information.

The Studio Art School

Due to renovations taking place to the Jonathan Maynard building in 2018, the Danforth Art School will be temporarily housed at 23 Salem End Road House on the Framingham State University campus for Spring and Fall sessions.


Summer Arts for Children will be held at May Hall on the Framingham State University campus. Please go to the Summer Arts page for more information.

Employment and Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer: Opportunities for Teens

Creative, responsible and energetic high school students may apply for Studio Art School Assistantships to assist with administrative and classroom tasks for our School Vacation Weeks or Summer Arts program. Applications are available here (PDF), and Spring deadlines apply. Please note: Due to the absence of museum galleries, the Teen Docent program has been indefinitely suspended.

Gallery Rentals and Birthday Parties

Danforth Art Museum\School has suspended all private rentals, including private tours, private events and birthday parties, until further notice.
