About the Exhibition

Danforth Art is pleased to collaborate with The Art Connection, a Boston-based organization that connects artists to underserved communities through the donation and placement of original contemporary artwork in area social service agencies, in the exhibition Creative Community. At Danforth Art, we believe in the transformative power of art, and are proud to work with The Art Connection to expand public access to the visual arts by assuring that artworks exhibited at Danforth Art this fall are gifted by the participating artists to MetroWest-area hospitals, clinics, and other human service agencies following the exhibition. Anchoring the Creative Community exhibition is Fay Chandler’s Enigma, a mixed media work in the Danforth Art Permanent Collection. At the heart of the Creative Community exhibition is Fay Chandler¬ís Enigma, a mixed media work in the Danforth Art Permanent Collection. A celebrated artist and arts advocate known for her fanciful artwork and generous spirit, Chandler founded The Art Connection on the belief that all should have art in their lives. Fay Chandler donated Enigma to Danforth Art in 1995, her first gift to a nonprofit organization.

Work in the exhibition Creative Community is available for placement in MetroWest social service agencies. If you are a representative of a social service agency interested in selecting art work, please contact Danforth Art Assistant Curator Jessica Roscio at 508.620.0050 ext. 12 or . Social service agencies may find information about eligibility at The Art Connection website.
