Adult Studio Art Classes

Weekly classes support in-depth learning of fundamental skills and techniques for adults of all levels of ability and experience, and in a variety of media. Classes are three hours in length, and meet once a week for six weeks. Click on the class title in the grid below for full descriptions, including any required prerequisites. For assistance with your class selection, you may call the School Office at (508) 620-0937.

Class Supplies: Students are responsible for purchasing supplies as listed in the class supply lists below; please click on CS to view or print. If the CS column says “N/A,” all class supplies are provided and students do not need to purchase any additional supplies.

Senior Discounts: Qualifying Senior citizens (aged 65 and older) receive 10% off all classes. Please follow instructions on registration pages to receive discount.

All Spring Session Adult Classes are listed below

Please note: We have adjusted the names of our classes to make it easier for you to select the appropriate level of study. For example, Watercolor, Painting and Drawing for Beginners are all classes for people who may have never taken an art class before.

Foundations of Drawing, and Foundations of Acrylic Painting are classes for those who have taken one or more beginning level classes.

Intermediate classes are for those who have taken some classes and would like more focused study. Advanced and Independent classes are for those who would like instruction as more individualized critique to help develop specific personal artistic goals. As always, please call us if you would like assistance in your selection, 508-620-0937 x 119.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to renovations taking place to the Jonathan Maynard building in 2018, Danforth Art School will be temporarily housed at 23 Salem End Road House for Spring and Fall sessions.
